MEET THE TRAINER
My name is Maggie Schneidermann, I am a thirty-year-old CERTIFIED Personal Trainer. Being a trainer is what I was born to do. It took me a while to figure it out, but this is where I'm supposed to be. There aren't a lot of people that can say they've found their passion, but I have certainly found mine. Since I can remember, I've loved being active and I've loved helping people do what they set out to do.
My parents were firm believers in being well-rounded individuals, so we were tossed into just about any sport and activity you could think of. Our summers were dedicated to dance class, gymnastics, art class, team sports, literally anything you could imagine. I was told to give everything a try at least once to see what you like and don't like, and you weren't allowed to quit before the class/season/session was over just in case it grew on you. If you still didn't like it by the end, you didn't have to do it again. Turns out, I loved being in sports, but I did hate being bad at them. That's where my love for all things athletic comes from.
I ended up playing basketball, volleyball, and soccer in high school and continued on to play basketball and soccer in college. I ended up graduating college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with an emphasis in medicine, because I thought I wanted to become a Pharmacist. My mom was sick a lot from chronic illnesses when I was growing up, so I found myself interested in the human body and how to heal it. That's where my love for all things health comes from.
After almost 5 years working in a pharmacy, I decided that it just wasn't for me. I wanted to help prevent people from having to be on medications and to help them live healthier lifestyles, so I started my transition into the personal training and nutrition world. Shortly after starting the process for personal training certification, however, I became pregnant with my son. I completely stopped working out, I was unhealthy, and I ended up gaining seventy pounds. Not only did I gain seventy pounds, but that weight stuck around for many months after I thought it'd leave. I thought that my body and my future were ruined forever. I, honestly, gave up for a while.
After I stopped making excuses for myself, I rekindled my love for health and fitness and started making healthier life decisions for me and my family. I was able to lose the seventy pounds that I had gained and gained the confidence I had lost. I may not have the "pre-baby" body back, but what I do have is a strong "post-baby" body that I worked hard for and am proud of. I want to be able to help people achieve a body that they can say they worked hard for and are proud of, too.
The programs I have come up with are designed to get you healthier, happier, and loving the body you are in. These programs are designed to make you feel better, because feeling good is much more important than looking good. Looking good is just an added bonus :)
